Will the Rams vs. Saints be the “rivalry” to watch in 2019?

The one “non-call” in the closing minutes of the 2018 NFC Championship game has annoited Rams vs Saints a rivalry.   I want  to stop here.  The one “non-call”?  There were more than one so called “non-call.”   There were two other “non-calls”  that should have gone against the Saints, but unlike Sean “Bounty-Gate’ Payton, Sean McVay did not go crying to the league.   He didn’t even go crying to league after the “non-call” on Brandon Cooks that prevented a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl.  He just moved on.

The Rams Have been Turned into a free-agent destination by Sean McVay

Sure, he’s an excellent X’s and O’s coach on game days and in the week of preparation, but he’s also turned L.A. into a destination for players. The Rams have signed two outside free agents this offseason – Eric Weddle and Blake Bortles – and both have raved about McVay, mentioning him as one of the primary reasons they picked Los Angeles.(Cameron DaSilva-Ramswire)

The above comment comes from an article written by Cameron DaSilva  for Ramswire.  DaSilva writes that the Rams young head coach, Sean McVay’s two of success, as a the main reason for the Rams becoming a free agent destination.

Dasilva supports McVay’s success as a drawing beacon for the Rams by using Bortles’ own words.

“I mean, I think as a quarterback, there’s not really anybody else you’d rather be around if you had your pick,” Bortles said, via the team’s official site. “What he’s done, the people that have been taken out of here for head coaching jobs, and OC jobs in other places I think is a testament to how good he is at what he does, how good of a teacher and a coach he is. And you watch them play, and the effort and intensity that they play at speaks to the type of head coach he is and how he gets the guys going.”(DaSilva article)

One can only hope that McVay’s success continues, and Les Snead continues to supply with the Rams high quality players to continue McVay’s success.
